Maybe you have never heard of Cobra Kai. It is a series that has been uploaded on YouTube since May 2018 and is directly derived from the mythical movie Karate Kid (the 1984 version). A film that has largely made a legendary place in the history of cinema and especially karate! Thirty-four years later, the saga continued. We follow the story of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who falls into precariousness, particularly haunted by his past. He therefore decided to reopen the famous Karate dojo "Cobra Kai" which was already at the center of the story. The rivalry with Daniel LaRusso, the hero embodied by Ralph Macchio will of course resume around a new generation of fighters.
Cobra Kai, the story continues
The saga developed on YouTube had already had two seasons of 10 episodes, each about 30 minutes long. The views on each episode can be counted in tens of millions, it must be said that we are talking about a production worthy of television. Good news therefore, the saga has been picked up by Netflix, which will put forward the first two seasons on its platform from August 28th.
Good news, a third season is also announced. It would have been filmed since last fall. But we still do not know when Netflix will put online the continuation of the adventures of Cobra Kai.
Fans of Cobra Kai may have feared that their series would be doomed. At the end of 2019, YouTube has indeed decided to put an end to the YouTube Originals program as far as series are concerned, giving priority to reality TV in particular. But Netflix saved yet another series...
