Instagram continues to work to make its platform more welcoming and caring. The social network offers this time its users the ability to pin comments for more positive interaction
The world is moving forward, technology is evolving, but social networks are becoming more and more similar. To begin with, the most famous platforms have all integrated the story format. Then, due to the success of TikTok, some of them like Instagram or YouTube, took the decision to plagiarize this video format to make it available to their users. In case you missed it, Instagramnow offers Reels, a format largely inspired by TikTok. Today, Instagram adds an already well-known feature to its application, the ability to pin a comment.
This new feature will be available from July 7th for all Instagram users, without exception. According to the social network, this will allow content creators to pin up to 3 comments so that they remain prioritized over the others, in order to more easily manage the conversation. Instagram first raised this possibility in May when it introduced its online anti-harassment plan.
A spokesperson for the social platform said, "This feature allows people to set the tone for their account and engage with their community by pinning a number of comments to the top of their thread. Instagram is counting on this update to empower people to amplify and encourage positive interactions. In addition to pinning comments, Instagram is expected to soon offer a way to mass-delete multiple comments and block many users in the same way.
As with Twitter, Instagram can be used to hide negative or even aggressive comments, but also to prevent when the comment is deemed insulting.
