Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans will take the lead in the spy thriller "The Gray Man". A very big budget Netflix production directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the duo behind "Avengers: Endgame".
Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans in spy mode! The Deadline website reports that the two American actors will soon give each other a line in the thriller The Gray Man, which will be directed for Netflix by Joe and Anthony Russo, the duo behind "Avengers: Endgame". The film, with a budget of over $200 million, will be the most expensive ever produced by the platform, which would like to take the opportunity to launch a spy franchise led by Gosling.
Adapted from Mark Greaney's 2009 novel, The Gray Man will tell the story of a duel between two killers. A confrontation between Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling), code-named The Gray Man, a former CIA agent turned contract killer, and Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), one of his former acolytes who is hunting him around the world.
"The film is a real mano a mano between these two superb actors, who represent two versions of the CIA, what it can be and what it can do,"
Anthony Russo explained to Deadline.
"For those of you who are fans of our film Captain America, the Soldier of Winter, we can say that we're heading into this territory, but set in a more real world. That's what The Gray Man really means to us."
The Gray Man, which James Gray and Brad Pitt (recently reunited for Ad Astra) were once interested in, will begin shooting in Los Angeles next January.
