We already talked about Netflix'stakeover of the Cobra Kai series. At the beginning of this project, there is of course the famous movie Karate Kid (the 1984 version) which featured Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka as Ralph Macchio and Johnny Lawrence. A true classic of the time that has transcended the ages. 34 years later, the two actors resumed their roles in a series for the YouTube Red platform. This one was entitled to two seasons, which met a great success with the fans. On the program, two seasons of 10 episodes of about 30 minutes each. Netflix has recovered the rights to the series, which we will be able to discover directly from August 28. But, the streaming platform has already planned the continuation.
Netflix gives a new life to Cobra Kai
The ad had fallen very quickly. Netflix intends to continue to build on the success of the Karate Kid's heirs by offering a third season. It had already been announced on YouTube before the Google subsidiary decided to turn the page on the original productions.
The trailer that has been put online by Netflix allows us to remember a little bit of Karate Kid's history, but also the last two seasons. A great recap that also gives us the direction that the 3rd season of the series should take. While the two main characters now have children and their own students, it's their former teacher, Mr. Miyagi, who makes his return to the screen. However, we know that in the story, he died a few years earlier. Season 3 could be particularly interested in his mysterious past.
Be careful before launching the trailer, there are some spoilers about the first two seasons of Cobra Kai.
The launch of season 3 is scheduled for 2021. Please be patient a little longer!
