Could E-Ray be General Motors' response to the surge of electric supercars we've seen popping up in recent months? The manufacturer could upgrade its Chevrolet Corvette to an electric version.
The American manufacturer has registered the E-Ray brand for the second time with the authorities in the "Land motor vehicle" category.
E-Ray: an electrified Corvette?
The brand had already been registered in 2015 by the car manufacturer, but without making use of it. It has just renewed this recording without making any particular announcement on the subject. However, several facts suggest that the new Chevrolet Corvette announced a little earlier could receive an electric or at least a hybrid engine.
The former vice-president of the brand, Joe Biden, had mentioned in a marketing video the hypothesis of a project of an electric Corvette capable of reaching 320 km / h. Additionally, General Motor has announced plans to produce zero-emission vehicles, including the Corvette. Should we see a link with an electric Corvette and the renewal of the E-Ray brand? It is quite possible, the future will let us know.
