Dedicated buttons for Netflix, YouTube and the Google Assistant in a complete remote control: these are the grea...
The arrival to the market of Google's HDMI dongle is the answer for Amazon Fire Stick or Mi Stick TV competitors, since Chromecast only allowed the user to see on TV or monitor the content received by the cell phone. The new name Chromecast for Google TV (this seems to be the official name) is also connected directly to the HDMI port of the TV.
Round and slightly larger than previous versions, it remains simple, with the power connection, the HDMI port and a status LED on the back, plus the reset button. The new feature, however, is an unprecedented remote control that accompanies it, with emphasis on specific buttons for access to Google Assistant and more YouTube and Netflix.
No news about internal memory
Its specifications include 2 GB of memory and the SoC AMLogic S905X2 chipset (a quad-core processor already used in Android TV products) with 12 nm architecture and four 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores, operating together with a Mali-G31 MP2 model GPU. From this set, it is possible to run videos in 4K, with support for HDMI 2.1 and features such as HDR10 and Dolby Vision, among others.
There is no information about internal memory but, as a complete streaming dongle for applications and services, it should be enough to download apps and games from the Play Store. According to 9to5Google, it will be sold in the colors summer melon (pink), rock candy (gray) and summer blue (blue), with a speculated price of US$ 50.
In September it is still expected that Google will present a new smart speaker. For the leaked renderings, they should come in two colors: charcoal (black) and chalk (white).
