The DJI Mini 2 is able to achieve a maximum flight time of 31 minutes with its battery, which at 2250mAh is somewhat smaller than the previous model
DJI will soon launch the Mini 2, the successor to the Mavic Mini, and will once again offer an extremely compact yet powerful mini drone at prices starting at just under 500 Euros. We have all the official specifications and marketing pictures in advance.
The DJI Mini 2 renounces the Mavic name, but still follows in the footsteps of the Mavic Mini. The basic design remains the same. So there are foldable arms again and easy to change propellers. As before, the DJI Mini 2 is also offered as an optional Fly More Bundle, with three batteries and various spare parts supplied by the manufacturer.
The DJI Mini 2 is said to be able to achieve a maximum flight time of 31 minutes with its battery, which at 2250mAh is somewhat smaller than the previous model. The device can travel up to 10 kilometers and reach a maximum altitude of up to 4000 meters. The ascent and total speed of the new model increases slightly to five meters per second and 16 meters per second respectively.
Camera with 12 MP and 4K video
For the camera, DJI relies on a 12 megapixel sensor with optical image stabilizer and a size of 1/2.3", which is capable of taking photos with 12 megapixels. The sensor can also record 4K video at 3840x2160 pixels at up to 30 frames per second and also supports 2.7K and Full HD recording. For photos, the DNG format for RAW recording is now supported in addition to JPG. The ISO range is specified as 100-3200 across all usage modes.
The optics of the DJI Mini 2 have
a 83 degree wide field of view and a maximum aperture size of F/2.8. The
equipment includes the controller known from the larger DJI Mavic drones.
OcuSync 2.0 is also offered together with geofencing and a follow me function.
The device weighs a slim 249 grams to avoid the approval requirement for all drones
with a weight of more than 250 grams in the USA.
The DJI Mini 2 will probably be on the market from November 4th and will then probably cost 449 Euros , while the Fly More Bundle will be subject to a surcharge.
