The adaptation of The Last of Us will retell the events of the first part of the most popular PlayStation exclusive.
While video game adaptations are considered a cursed genre, Hollywood has persevered in adapting famous IPs for large and small screens. And with the latter, oddly enough, the studios sometimes even get something worthwhile - just remember Netflix's Castlevania and the YouTube project Mortal Kombat: Legacy. It is quite possible that soon they will be accompanied by a series based on the The Last of Us dilogy: as it turned out, its production was officially given the "green light".
It is worth mentioning that pre-production started at the beginning of the year , but the company confirmed full-fledged production only a few days ago - albeit without specific dates. For the project, we recall, are responsible for Neil Druckmann (game author) and Craig Mazin, screenwriter of last year's hit "Chernobyl", and executive producers include Carolyn Strauss ("The Sopranos", "Game of Thrones") and Naughty Dog President Evan Wells.
It is known that the adaptation of The Last of Us will retell the events of the first part of the most popular PlayStation exclusive. Given the format, the show's writers are likely to add new storylines to the story and deepen the relationship between the two central characters, the tough smuggler Joel and the girl Ellie.
