HarmonyOs beta version will be available from 16th December 2020 and the Mate 40 series will be the first to receive the upgrade.
Next year, HUAWEI intends to release the first smartphone with a pre-installed proprietary operating system HarmonyOS. However, even earlier, the OS should become available to owners of current devices. According to new information, this will happen very soon.
The new information came from Mai Yumin, Vice President of the HUAWEI Software Division. According to him, the release of the beta version of HarmonyOS for smartphones is scheduled for December 16 this year. He also added that the owners of the new flagships of the HUAWEI Mate40 series will be able to first try out the new OS.
Interestingly, after a very short time, a new message appeared from a representative of HUAWEI, according to which information about the release of the beta of HarmonyOS in December is not official and the company is not yet ready to name specific dates.
It is unclear why such confusion has occurred. It is possible that Mai Yumin revealed the company's plans ahead of schedule. However, there is very little time left to wait for the specified date. Reportedly, HUAWEI plans to transfer about 90% of all its current smartphones to HarmonyOS .
