Huawei's next flagship phone, the P50, will be powered by the Kirin 9000, the 5nm chip that also fuels the Mate 40 series
Long before the expected date of the announcement of the flagship smartphone HUAWEI P50, the first information about its technical characteristics appeared on the network. According to network sources, the "heart" of the gadget, despite the ban on supplies from the United States, will still be the original Kirin 9000 processor.
According to The Elec, Taiwan-based TSMC shipped nine million 5nm Kirin 9000 chipsets to HUAWEI before the US sanctions took effect. Thus, the upcoming HUAWEI P50 will be equipped with the brand's latest chip. But given that the demand for the current flagship Mate 40 in China is very high and could amount to more than 10 million units, it is not yet known whether the stock of chips will be sufficient for both smartphones.
In addition, the authoritative network informant Digital Chat Station noted that due to the shortage of branded processors, the flagship of the recently sold HONOR brand called V40 will not receive them either.
The upcoming HUAWEI P50 is also credited with an OLED display made by Samsung or LG. The exact date of the presentation and the cost of the smartphone are still unknown.
