Microsoft is expected to launch new
versions of its Surface Pro and Surface Laptop early next year
Microsoft apparently wants to introduce the next generation of the Surface Pro and the Surface Laptop earlier than expected. The launch is not supposed to take place this year, but in January. Now the devices can be seen for the first time and some new details have become known.
As the Twitter user @cozyplanes noted, the Surface Pro 8 and Surface Laptop 4 have apparently already been tested by the South Korean product safety authority. Safety Korea lists the products as " Model 1950 " (Surface Laptop 4) and " Model 1960 " (Surface Pro 8) and names the Chinese contract manufacturer Maintek Computer as the manufacturer.

Maintek has been Microsoft's preferred manufacturing partner for years and a subsidiary of the Taiwanese company Pegatron, which also works as a contract manufacturer for various other brands such as Apple. The entries at Safety Korea do not bring any big news, but at least they show a photo of the Surface Pro 8 and Surface Laptop 4. The pictures show that the devices do not change at first glance, the design of the one made of magnesium manufactured case remains the same.
However , there was some
additional information about the two new Surface devices from Windows
Central . Microsoft is currently planning the
presentation for January 2021. There is also talk of the Surface Pro 8
being offered for the first time in a variant with an integrated LTE modem .
For the Surface Laptop 4, the use of an AMD processor should also be expected for the first time in the smaller model . The 11th generation Intel Core CPUs are still standard for both models. In addition, Microsoft is reportedly planning to introduce a black edition of the Surface Go 2 tablet and wider availability of the Surface Duo smartphone hybrid in more countries.
