Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has finally been pushed back to March 18, 2021 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
While the launch of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been postponed to March 2021, Ubisoft has listed a Nintendo Switch version on its official website.
The famous Prince of Persia license will make its big comeback in 2021. Announced for late 2020, the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has finally been pushed back to March 18, 2021 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The time for the developers to optimize this "new" opus which had been criticized during its first presentation.
The opportunity also to prepare the next-gen versions. Although Ubisoft has not officially released a PS5 and Xbox Series version of this Prince of Persia Remake, Ubisoft's US store does mention the arrival of such an edition. It reads :
Buy Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and upgrade your game to the next-gen version (Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X) at no additional charge.
Also a Nintendo Switch version
The return of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has put stars in the eyes of all players, including the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, Ubisoft never mentioned the arrival of a version for the Japanese console. Until now...
Still on its American online store, Ubisoft lists a Nintendo Switch version of Prince of Persia Remake. Nevertheless, the game is out of stock. Error, bug, or real good news? Ubisoft hasn't yet expressed itself on the subject.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the return of a classic game
Launched in 2003 on PlayStation 2, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time quickly became a phenomenal success. With 20 million units sold, Ubisoft held a license envied by all publishers.
This critically acclaimed opus shone with its script, graphics, universe and, above all, its gameplay. Then the license suffered a few setbacks: first with a disappointing sequel and then a film adaptation of The Sands of Time that didn't steal its "big nanar" title.
Ubisoft had then abandoned the Persian prince, preferring to focus on other universes, notably Assassin's Creed, whose gameplay is reminiscent of Prince of Persia.
The arrival of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is one of the most eagerly awaited games of early 2021. Let's hope that Ubisoft will not disappoint fans or young gamers eager to discover a license that has left its mark on an entire generation. See you on March 18, 2021 to see what Ubisoft's teams have concocted for us. And if a Nintendo Switch version will be available. The wait will be (very) long.
